In Taunton, December 13, 2014 Mary E. Martin, Age 78, passed away at home peacefully following a lengthy illness. Mary was the wife of the late Manuel A. Martin. She was born in St. Miguel, Portugal, the daughter of the late Humberto & Maria (DeFreitas) Soares DeFreitas. Mary has resided in Taunton the past 52 years. She was the former owner of Martin Driving School in Taunton. Mary enjoyed cooking, her dogs and spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving children Herb Martin and his wife Ellen Perry-Martin of Berkley, James Martin and his wife Cindy of Weston, FL and Mary Taylor of Taunton. She also leaves her grandchildren Kyle Taylor, Kasi Taylor, Cody Martin, Trevor Martin, McKenzie Martin and Andrew Martin and her great grandchildren Ava McCormick and Evelyn Taylor. A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
