Obituary

Sheila A. Paquette, 77, formerly of Lincoln died Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the former wife of the late Raymond J. Paquette.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Flynn) McMahon. She was raised in Providence and lived for several years in Pawtucket. She was a resident of Lincoln for over 40 years until relocating to Attleboro and most recently Swansea within the past several years.
Sheila was employed as a salesperson at Loring Photography Studios and then Kaufman Sales and later worked for the State of Rhode Island Community Development Block Grant until her retirement.
Politically active Sheila was the first female Democratic Party chairwoman for the Town of Lincoln. She was a longtime active communicant of St. Jude Parish in Lincoln serving as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher. She was also active in the PTA for the Lincoln schools.
Sheila was a voracious reader on many subjects and was known to readily express her opinions. Sheila was skilled in debate and willing to engage in an often times passionate exchange with anyone about anything at any time. Most of all Sheila will be remembered for her total love and devotion for her family.
She is survived by two daughters Michelle-Rae Hill and her husband, Thomas, of Atlanta, GA and Nicole Y. Paquette of MA. She was the sister of Mary Hagen of Lincoln, William McMahon of Smithfield, and Michael McMahon of CA and the late Raymond McMahon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sheila was the aunt of the late Jessica “Jessie” Morris.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St. Lincoln. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday from 5-8 pm.
