Rita A. Connelly, 81, of Lawrence died peacefully with family by her side, on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Rita was born on January 17th, 1933 in Lawrence, Mass., lived in Methuen, Mass. and graduated from Methuen High School. She studied to become a Certified Dental Assistant at Tufts University in Boston and Merrimack College in North Andover. She loved her chosen career and was proud of her years working in the offices of Dr. Siskind, Dr. Zimny and Dr. Hajjar.
Rita was a kind and generous woman who lived by the motto, "It's up to the man upstairs." She is at peace now, reunited with all her loving family and dancing a polka with her Babcie.
Rita was the daughter of the late Sophie (Jurek) Barton and was also predeceased just last month by her sister Joan C. St. Jean of North Andover. She is survived by extended family throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Monday, December 15th, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Her service will be held immediately following the calling hours at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Her burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
