Florence H. (Doherty) Ross age 70, of West Bridgewater died Wednesday December 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Manor surrounded by her children. She was born in Boston and raised in Norwood a daughter of the late James and Helen (Stone) Doherty. She had lived in West Bridgewater for the majority of her life.
A 1962 graduate of Norwood High School, Florence was a stay at home mother devoted to her home and family. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, crocheting and trips to anywhere by the water. She had been a member of the Mary Kennedy Senior Center in Brockton.
Florence will be remembered as a determined yet warm and loving woman who loved everyone. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Florence was the mother of Michael J. Ross and his wife Danielle (Spadea) of West Bridgewater, Robert K. Ross of West Bridgewater, Steven W. Ross and his wife Keri (St. George) of Bridgewater and Linda J. Ross with whom she lived in West Bridgewater. She was the grandmother of Jason, Thomas, Kaitlin and Gavin and sister of Patricia Stewart of E. Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday 3-7 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9am for a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence’s name may be made to Active Amputee Support Group, 26 Utility Drive Scituate, MA 02066.
