Conrad J. Palsic, age 75, of Mansfield, formerly of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Charwell House in Norwood. He was the beloved husband of Mary T. (Roberts) Palsic.
Born in Slovenia on September 3, 1939, he was a loving son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Fink) Palsic.
At the age of nine, Conrad and his family moved to the United States; settling in Norwood where he grew up and was a 1958 graduate of Norwood High School.
Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the service on Feb. 2, 1962 with the rank of Private First Class.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 41 years, Mr. Palsic retired in 1992; following a 30 year career as a letter carrier for the Norwood Post Office.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, a life member of the DAV Chapter 90 in Norwood and also a member of the Sharon American Legion Post 106. Conrad’s favorite pastime was playing golf.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted brother Carl Palsic of Norwood. He is also survived by his dear nieces and nephew; Karen Riek of Medford, Cheryl Palsic of Colorado and Joseph Palsic of Wyoming.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, December 15th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning on Monday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Conrad’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Patrick P. McLaughlin Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 591, Mansfield, MA 02048.
