WEBSTER – Theresa J. “Tess” (Gulczynski) Przystas, 86, died peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, with family at her side.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Louis A. Przystas; 4 children, Linda K. Sproles and her husband Gary D. Sproles of Bristol, TN, Louis Mark Przystas and his partner Eric Chojnowski of Hopkinton, Lorrie A. Przystas of Webster, and Tracy James Przystas and his wife Rhonda Przystas of Southbridge; 2 grandchildren, Lindsay Sproles and Heather Johnson; 2 great-grandchildren, Leah and Jacob; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Stanley, Joseph “Gus” and William Gulczynski and by 4 sisters, Wanda Katrenak, Gladys Mayes, Bernice Smith and Jane Sczepaniak.
She was born in Webster, the youngest child of William and Katherine (Lewandowski) Gulczynski and lived here all her life. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Przystas was a home health aide for the former Webster-Dudley Samaritans before her retirement.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica. She belonged to the Webster-Dudley American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as a board member. She was also a former member of the Webster Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 13, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, December 12, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to either Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570 or to the Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org).
