Gertrude P. (Lynch) Driscoll of Natick passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Natick. She was ninety years old and the daughter of the late Edward F. and Elizabeth R. (Brophy) Lynch.
She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Fisher Junior College. Gertrude worked at GTE for thirteen years as an executive secretary where she was a member of Toastmasters. After her career at GTE she re-joined her husband Richard at Driscoll Associates Modular Homes, a real estate office on Cape Cod.
She enjoyed her work and was a walking thesaurus who could give you the spelling, origin and definition of any word. She loved knowledge, Latin and reading.
Mrs. Driscoll was a Natick resident since 1980 and a faithful member of St. Linus Church of Natick. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard F. Driscoll and the loving mother of Thomas D. Driscoll and his wife Rachel of Natick and Janet P. Perry of Norton.
Cherished grandmother of Madison E. Perry of Norton and Ryan P. Bacher of Natick. Caring sister of Dorothy Cashin and her late husband William of Westwood, the late Beatrice Kelly and her husband Robert of Newton and the late Edward “Bud” Lynch and his wife Adelaide of Somerville. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gertrude’s funeral will be held from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Monday, December 15th at 9:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours in the funeral home on Sunday, December 14th from 4:00-7:00PM. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:00PM.
