Rose M. (D’Errico) DiBlasio, 101 of Somerville, passed away peacefully Monday at the Jean Jugan Residence, Somerville.

Born and raised in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Alessandrina (DeBaggis) and Rocco D'Errico. Soon after marrying her husband Carmin DiBlasio in 1933, she moved to Somerville. Rose worked in advertising for the Cambridge Chronicle. In later years Rose was employed by the Dow Jones & Co., publisher of the Wall Street Journal and was the first female Associate District Manager in Dow Jones history; with her offices being in Boston, Hartford and New York. Rose was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her center of attention was raising and caring for her children. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crossword puzzles. What brought her the most joy was her great-grandchildren. Upon retirement in 1978, she volunteered for the Council on Aging in Somerville.

Beloved wife of the late Carmin A. DiBlasio. Devoted mother of Alessandra “Sandy” Caruso and her husband Anthony of Medford, the late Maria Schnetter, Michael “Mike” DiBlasio and his wife Evelyn. Loving grandmother of Michael DiBlasio, Dana Hartford, Robert Schnetter, Judith Boyko, Michael Schnetter. Loving great grandmother of Nicholas, Kathryn and Grace DiBlasio, Emily and Lauren Hartford, Alexander and Abigail Boyko and Diana Cooper. Sister of the late Francisco “Frank”, Donato “Danny”, Orlando “Luns” D’Errico, Gioconda “Jackie” Cataldo, Dante D’Errico, Laura Taddeo, Sister Paula D’Errico, Ferdinand “Freddie” D’Errico, Antoinette “Tee” Ciarlone and Joseph “Joey” D’Errico. She is the loving and loved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by her loving sister in law Theresa D’Errico.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St,, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Franklin.
