Billy Linton Elliott
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, December 7, 2014, Mr. Billy Linton Elliott, 81, loving husband of 59 years to Vera Thompson Elliott.
Mr. Elliott was a member of Augusta Primitive Baptist Church. He retired after 42 years with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He worked for several years with Roadway Express, Osbon Medical and Napa Auto Parts.
Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Mike Elliott (Susan) of Hephzibah, Mark Elliott (Tina) of Aiken; daughter: Joy Hoover (Robert) of North Augusta; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Herman Elliott.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Terry Doss officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be active and retired letter carriers.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
