Dorothy M. (Bedore) Mackiewicz, age 98 of Plymouth, formerly of Brockton and Carver, died Sunday December 7, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth. She was the wife of the late Michael Mackiewicz.
Dorothy was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Peter and Florence (Regan) Bedore and lived in Brockton for most of her life until moving to Carver in 1996. She had been a stay at home mother devoted to her family and the care of her handicapped daughter Maureen. In her free time she enjoyed baking and keeping up with her soap operas. When living in Brockton she was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Church.
Dorothy was the mother of Michael Mackiewicz husband of the late Helen of Plymouth, Maureen Mackiewicz of Kingston, Arthur Mackiewicz and his wife Audrey of Leesburg, FL and Wayne Mackiewicz and his wife Linda of Bourne. Dorothy was the grandmother of Eric Mackiwicz of Arlington, VA; Sean Mackiewicz of Los Angeles, Keith Mackiewicz of Leesburg, FL and Regina Zimberlin of Warwick, RI. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the sister of the late Peter, Thomas and Arthur Bedore, Florence Simmons, Alice Perino and Mary Salimen.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday from 9-10am followed by a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am.
