Obituary

DeBiasi, Gerard A. of Plymouth, MA, (formerly of Foxboro and of West Roxbury, MA) died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014. He was 73 years old. Born to the late Dominic and Theresa DeBiasi of Roslindale, MA, Gerry is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia L. (Hurley), devoted and loving children Gerry DeBiasi, Jr. and his wife Patrice of Weston, Lisa DeBiasi of Wakefield, Lori DeBiasi and her husband James O’Neill of Boston, adoring grandchildren Sage and Connor DeBiasi, and loving sister Roberta Vitiello and her husband Michael of Florida. He is also survived and deeply loved by a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerry received a Jesuit education from Boston College High School and Boston College, where he graduated with honors (1963). He earned his CPA and joined Arthur Andersen, where he became Partner and remained for his entire career until his retirement (1994). After his retirement, Gerry co-founded and ran a small realty partnership with a friend. He also spent time traveling with his best friend and life partner, Pat. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, biking, watching sports and spending time with close friends and family. He loved being “papa” to his grandchildren. A beautiful man, inside and out, Gerry touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. His infectious Italian passion and acute intelligence came alive in all that he loved, from his work to entertaining friends to golfing to watching sports. Always a gentleman, he opened doors for others, literally and figuratively. The love he expressed for others, especially for his wife and family planted a love so deep in their hearts, it came full circle in his final days. His generosity of spirit reached far and wide, and remained untouched even through the challenge of his illness, which he held with dignity to the very end.

Relatives & friends are respectfully and warmly invited to join Gerry’s family in the celebration of his life. Visiting hours are 3 to 7PM, Friday December 5th at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury.

Funeral procession begins from the Funeral Home at 9AM, Saturday, December 6th. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10AM at Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St, West Roxbury.

Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers kindly make a memorial donation in Gerry’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA. 02472.
