Fall River – Rosemary Arruda, age 69 of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of John Arruda and the daughter of Fortunata Borges (Rego) and Joseph J. Sylvia.
A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Arruda dedicated her life to the upbringing of her family.
She is survived by 4 stepchildren: John B. Arruda, Rodney B. Arruda, Elaine Clement and Michelle D. Arruda; 3 sisters: Delores Ferro, Edith J. Machado and Antonia Popieczlyk; as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 2 siblings: Joseph J. Sylvia and Richard B. Sylvia.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, December 12 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. with a Religious Service to be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
