Rita E. (Pelletier) Caron-Roy

Rita E. (Pelletier) Caron-Roy, 90, of Springvale, Maine and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of the late W. Walter Caron and also the wife of the late Richard E. Roy.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late P. Alcide and Viola M. (Grenier) Pelletier. Rita was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and Salem Commercial School. She married Walter in 1946 and devoted her time to raising her young family. She was widowed in 1962, and in 1970 married Richard. Shortly after, Rita began working in bookkeeping in the treasurer’s office for the City of Salem. Rita retired from the city in 1992.

Rita’s entire life was centered around her family, and later, her second family which she warmly embraced. She enjoyed entertaining her now very large extended family and will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane T. Parisien of Springvale, ME, Anne Marie Caron and her husband, Gary Dulabaum of South Burlington, VT, three sons, Roger Caron and his wife Debra of Springvale, ME, Robert Caron and his wife Gretchen of Bay City, MI, and John W. Caron of Peabody. One step-son, Robert Roy and his wife Carole of Topsfield, two step-daughters, Elizabeth Michaud and her husband Ken of Port St. Lucie, FL, Anne “Nancy” Barthelemy and her husband Raymond of Lakeland, FL. She also leaves her sister M. Claire Stenberg and her husband Robert of Peabody, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 28 step-great-grandchildren and several step-great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Parent, step-daughter, Constance St. Pierre, 3 step-grandsons, Rick, Paul and Richard.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 8:45 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave. Salem at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
