Obituary

Roger J. Fisette 85, of MacArthur Rd. died Wednesday at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of Leona (Boisvert) Fisette. They celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary, November 22, 2014. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Theodore and Odila (Jalbert) Fisette. He was a graduate of Mt St. Charles Academy. Mr. Fisette was a Korean War Army Veteran. He worked for the former Almac’s Supermarket for thirty years retiring in 1991 as the Deli Manager. He was a Hall Monitor at Woonsocket High School in 2010. He was a meticulous wood worker, and enjoyed a wide range of projects including large tasks for the house, to small toys for the grandchildren and dogs. Roger had a great love of dogs especially his granddaughter’s yellow lab Molly, and the neighbor’s dog Leo. He was a history buff and had a remarkable memory for dates. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time on the computer, playing Free Cell, emailing and skyping his children and grandchildren, reading the news and getting an update on gossip.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Donald Fisette of Woonsocket, and Marc Fisette of Eastford, CT, a daughter Diane Heffernan of Uxbridge, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Bertrand and Gerald Fisette.

Mr. Fisette’s funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM.
