Obituary

Robert Fulton, 97, of Natick, died Friday November 28, 2014. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Agnes C. (Sullivan) and David H. Fulton. He graduated from Boston College High School in 1935, New Preparatory School in 1936, and Harvard College in 1940. He was a member of the Harvard Varsity Club (baseball 1938, 1939, 1940). Between 1941-1945, he served as a U.S. Army Officer in various positions with 221st Field Artillery Battalion of the Americal Division, including as commander of a battery of 155mm howitzers. Among other decorations, he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with bronze service stars for service at Guadalcanal, Bougainville, and Leyte. After World War II, he graduated from Boston University Law School and practiced law in Boston as a sole practitioner for over 40 years. He and his wife, Mary (Carraher), who died in 2004, lived in Wellesley Hills for 30 years and enjoyed membership at the Wellesley Country Club for over 50 years. He is survived by his children, David H. Fulton II, Stephen C. Fulton and his wife Mary Ellen, Louisa A. Fulton and her husband George H. Weiss Jr., Robert Fulton Jr., former daughter-in- law May Toms of Greensboro, North Carolina, six grandchildren, Hannah Murray and her husband Tim, David H. Fulton III, Elizabeth O. Fulton, Craig C. Fulton, Robert Fulton III, and John V. Fulton, two great-grandchildren, and eighteen nieces and nephews. He also leaves his sisters, Margaret F. Keyes and Ann F. Cote. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday December 2, at 10:00 A.M. in St Linus Church 119 Hartford Street, Natick. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
