Of Buzzards Bay and Whitemount, Kilnaboy, County Clare, Ireland. Joseph Lahiff passed away on November 24.
Born in Kilnaboy, Co Clare, Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Hehir) Lahiff.
Joe immigrated to the United States in 1964 and was a longtime employee of Harvard University.
Joe was the cherished brother of Mary O’Donoghue of Kilfenora, Co Clare, Ireland, Gretta Fallon of Beverly, the late Michael Lahiff of Somerville, John of England, Delia Reynolds, Patrick and Thomas Lahiff of Co Clare, Ireland.
He was the longtime companion of Noreen Fahy.
He was the beloved “Uncle Joe” to 23 nieces and nephews and many more grand nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and the United States.
The funeral will be from the Brown Flaherty Funeral Home, 261 Washington St, Somerville on Saturday, November 29 at 9:00am, followed by a funeral mass at St Joseph’s Church, Union Square, Somerville at 10:00am. Visiting hours will be Friday, November 27 from 4-8pm.
