Dorothy J. Mahoney, of Londonderry, NH and former longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully, November 26, 2014, at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 83. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Mahoney. Born in Newton she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Edith (Yarossi) Starble.

Dorothy was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School with the class of 1949. Mostly devoted to her family, she enjoyed sewing and making many of her own clothes, she was a talented artist painting portraits and landscapes in oils and pastels. She also enjoyed bowling for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted son, Dana F. Mahoney of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Dana, Samantha, Kristen and Chris. Cherished sister of Edith Starble of Woburn, Evelyn Aimo of Saugus, and Frank C. "Marty" Starble of Woburn.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, November 29th, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Friday from 4 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
