Obituary

Methuen – Emma M. (Wilkinson) Chase-Mack passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home in Haverhill, exactly one week following her 100th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald W. Chase and Harry M. Mack.

Born in Methuen on November 18, 1914, Emma was the daughter of Harry and Mary (Fritzsche) Wilkinson. She attended Methuen schools and graduated from the Searles High School. She worked as a secretary at Redmonds Insurance Agency in Methuen and then at Malden Mills in Lawrence until her retirement. Emma was a former member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Methuen. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, square dancing, and taking long walks with her friends.

Emma will be deeply missed by her 2 sons, Donald W. Chase and his wife, Sharon, of Methuen and Robert G. Chase and his wife, Rhonda, of Methuen; 3 grandchildren, Robert D. Chase and his wife, Sabrina, of South Lawrence, Melissa L. Lees of Methuen, and Erik J. Chase of Methuen; 3 great grandchildren, Chase Lees, Dustin Chase, and Austin Lees; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, William Wilkinson.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Emma’s life by gathering for a celebratory service to be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Emma’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mack and Chase families.
