Obituary

WORCESTER-Nancy A. Murphy passed away peacefully Monday, November 24, 2014 at home after a short battle with melanoma.

She leaves three children, Sharon Hind and her husband Tom, Kevin Murphy and his wife, Debra all of Worcester and David Murphy and his wife, Debbie of Auburn; ten grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Amy, Devyn, Morgan, Nicole, Charlie, Tim, Dan and Kate; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Mary Lucey and her husband John and Christine Maloney all of Worcester; many special cousins and lifelong best friend, Bette Borglund.

Nancy worked at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton and at the Sheraton Lincoln in Worcester for many years, before moving to Cape Cod for 25 years to run her own cleaning business. She eventually returned to Worcester for her retirement.

Nancy will be remembered for her outrageous sense of humor. Boy, could she tell a story! She was one funny lady!

The family would like to thank the VNA Palliative and Hospice Nurses for their wonderful care and also her granddaughter, Jennifer for her daily loving care.

Nancy's wish was for her body to be donated to UMASS Medical School. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday, December 6 at Noon in the Masonic Overlook Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton. Followed by a luncheon, everyone is invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the, Melanoma Research Foundation, PO Box, 759329, Baltimore, MD 21275.
