Marie Anne Courchesne 101, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she has been living for the past five years. Marie Anne has been an active participant in her daily care and the many activities offered to residents. She was born August 12, 1913in Slatersville, the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Thouin) Courchesne. Marie Anne worked in the jewelry manufacturing industry in Riverside for many years before retiring to care for her mother.
She was the sister of the late George J. Courchesne and Joseph R. Courchesne. She leaves five nieces and nephews, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews including her niece and caregiver Suzanne Courchesne Le of Woonsocket.
Matante enjoyed card games, jigsaw puzzles, word searches, family visits, bus trips especially to New York City, and riding roller coasters. Fiercely independent and stubborn, she lived a full and productive life, appreciated simple pleasures and believed that God helps those that help themselves. Matante will be missed.
