Charlotte Upton
Augusta, GA – Known as Charnick to childhood friends and Cha-cha to her grandchildren, Charlotte Nicholson Upton, is now free of all her earthly pain. She passed away November 21st at home with her family by her side. She leaves so many memories -Dr. Pepper and Pepperidge Farm cookies for breakfast, the love of telling a great joke, and her passion for the UNC Tar Heels. Being the fashion forward family member, we will miss her keeping us in style. She entered the workforce after raising her family, and worked for Dr. Barrett Trotter for almost 20 years, a job that she truly loved.
Charlotte was born August 20, 1939 to Plummer A. Nicholson and Charlotte K. Nicholson. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Upton, sister, Blake Hodges, and brother, Nick Nicholson, children, Charlotte (Nicki) and Gary Peacock, Gary and Chantey Upton. Also, her grandchildren, Lee Peacock, Charlotte Peacock, Rebecca Bruni, Ellie Bruni, and John Bruni. And not to forget-her rescue dogs Mayce and Sassy!
In lieu of flowers, it would please her to no end if you would adopt a pet in need of a home in her memory. A donation to the CSRA Humane Society will also be greatly appreciated at P.O. Box 14667, Augusta, GA 30919.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Lynn Prather officiating.
