Dartmouth – George Martin, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. He was the widower of Claire (Camara) Martin and the son of Theresa (Mathias) and Luiz Martin.
George was born in Dartmouth, spent all of his time in this area and worked as a Foreman at National Silver for many years until his retirement. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church.
PFC George Martin proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his 2 children: Susan E. Martin and her fiancé, Gunter Harding, of New Bedford, and Kevin Brian Martin and his wife Traci of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Amanda Theodore, Zackary Martin, Nicole Martin and Nathan Martin; 3 great grandchildren: Jadalynn, Alexis and Aaliyah.
His Funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
