Dana F McNeil at 79 years old of Cumberland R.I. and formerly of Natick, MA. died Friday November 14 at the Home Hospice Care of in Providence R.I.
He was the beloved husband of Irene F. (Walker) McNeil.
A resident of Cumberland for 36 years he was born in Natick the son of the late George and Sarah (Benedict) McNeil.
Mr. McNeil was a former sports writer for the Middlesex News in Framingham and later Editor for the Providence Journal. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving as a Medic.
Mr. McNeil was an avid golfer enjoyed reading and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
In addition to his wife he is survived by six children, Dana A. McNeil of Upton, MA., Kim McNeil of Mashpee, MA., Sherri O'Clair of Pawtucket R.I., Elizabeth Price of Pawtucket, RI, Mark of Cape Cod, MA. and George McNeil of Tennessee. One brother Ronald Bradford, two sisters Barbara Kramer, and Sarah Slack, several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Joey McNeil, brother of the late George McNeil, Carol McNeil, and Marcia Feinberg. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday November 19 at 1:00 P.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.
Visiting hours are Wednesday beginning at 11:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Burial in St Patrick Cemetery Natick, MA.
