Venetia Pilkinton Smith, 78, of 158 Creekview Drive, Leesburg, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
Born on January 8, 1936 in Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Morris B. Pilkinton, Sr. and Tiny Elizabeth Wilson Pilkinton, Mrs. Smith retired from the Lee County Board of Education, where she was employed as a lunchroom employee. She was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Greg (Patricia) Brown and Jeff Brown all of Leesburg, Georgia; daughter, Karen Brown of Gulf Port, Mississippi; brothers, J. N. Pilkinton of Sycamore, Georgia, Buford Pilkinton of Salem, South Carolina, and Terry Pilkinton of Sycamore, Georgia; sisters, Dorothy Pilkinton of Dallas, Georgia, Ann Reeves of Sycamore, Georgia, and Gloria Jean Cameron of Sycamore, Georgia; grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Amber Burson, and Logan Brown all of Leesburg, Georgia and Danialle Servis of Mobile, Alabama; great grandchildren, Parker Brown and Weston Brown, both of Leesburg, Georgia.
