Obituary

Our beloved Guillermo “Billy” Chavez entered eternal life on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Community Memorial Hospital. His spirit is carried on by his wife Rhonda Chavez, 4 children; Michael and wife Heather Smith, Jennifer and husband Jay Harrington, Miranda Chavez and Justice Chavez, 3 grandchildren; Olivia, Kylie and Ashlyn Smith, siblings; Mark Chavez and Sandee Orris, extended family, Bryan, Stella and many friends.
Born October 22, 1964 and raised in Ventura, Bill was a local at heart and eager to make a difference in his community. He devoted countless hours to Saticoy Little League by serving on the board, coaching the youth, serving as the Umpire-In-Chief, and officiating. His efforts did not go unnoticed. He was promoted in August 2014 by the District 63 Umpire Association for meeting a very strict criteria and despite his difficulties, he volunteered more time officiating little league baseball games this year than anyone else in the league. Bill was content on the baseball field because he was making a difference in so many young lives.
A mason by trade, Bill worked at Granite Construction as a Concrete Foreman for 18 years. He was always willing to extend his talents to friends and neighbors by helping them with home improvement projects and never expecting anything in return. He gave whole-heartedly and touched the lives of so many.
You are, and will always be, deeply missed.
The celebration of life will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 by the Lorenzana Family. If you would like more details please contact Miranda Chavez at 805.824.9582. To make a donation to the Chavez Family please go to GoFundMe.com/hfvr6g.
