Laconia-----Helen M. Hawkins, 92, of 21 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community, died at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was the widow of William I. Hawkins who died in 1990.
Helen was born November 2, 1922 in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of the late Pierre and Laura (Morrissette) Chamberlain.
Helen was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport and volunteered at the New to You Shop. She had been employed at Story Drug Store and the Jr. Deb Clothing Store. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed reading and square dancing and loved to keep up with world affairs.
Helen is survived by a son, William K. Hawkins, of Cape Coral, Florida; three daughters, Jerilyn Peart and her husband, Bruce, of Seattle, Wash., Linda Rowley and her husband, Jerry, of Salt Lake City, Utah and Margaret Hooker and her husband, Billy, of Lyons, GA; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Linnette Remick of Rye, N.H. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by a brother, Roland Chamberlain, and a sister, Rita Eldridge.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.
