Obituary

GILFORD - Dale Pattison Eddy, 81, of Gilford, NH and formerly of Madison, CT, Brooklyn, CT and Abington, MA died peacefully at home on Friday, Nov 14th 2014, surrounded by family. Born on May 26th, 1933 in Hartford CT, he was the son of the late Willard Collins Eddy and Ednah Burgess Eddy. He graduated with a BA in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Harvard University. He was plant Engineer for Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown, PA and a management consultant for Proudfoot Consulting and an independent management consultant for many years.
A lover of the UCONN girls’ basketball team which brought him many enjoyable evenings, he was also a passionate writer and story teller with a sense of humor and a passion for debate. He often wrote articles for local papers under the pen name of E. D. Pattison.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margret Swahn Eddy and his children, Dale Channing Eddy and his wife Deborah of Gilford NH, Liisa Eddy Bennett of Taunton MA, John Albin Eddy and his wife Christina of Concord NH, and Julie (Eddy) Pattison Armstrong and her husband John of Sharon MA. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Channing Blanchard Eddy and sister-in-law Phyllis Bartow Eddy of Cheshire CT. He also leaves his grandchildren, Christopher and Paul Bennett, Jessica and Hjordis Armstrong, Michael Eddy and his wife Kristina, Andrew, David and Bryson Eddy and six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nicholas and Ryan Sasseville, Noah and Lyllian Eddy and Olivia Bennett, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:30 am at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford NH 03249 with the Reverend Michael Graham presiding. Services will be followed by a reception at the church.
