Mary A. (Pina) Mitte, 95, of New Bedford died Sunday November 16, 2014 at the Royal of Fairhaven surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Marstons Mills, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Rosario) Pina, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Mitte was formerly employed as a preschool teacher at United Front Day Care Center.
She was a graduate of Barnstable High School. She was a member of the Martha Briggs Educational Club.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Deneen Perkins and Freddie Perkins, both of New Bedford, and Michelle Perkins of California; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Cecelia Mitte Perkins, the grandmother of the late Kimberly Perkins, and the sister of the late Laura Andrade, Josephine Perry, Anne Hull, Louise Mendes, Joseph Pina, Manuel Pina, and Proferio Pina.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
