Vincenza Cincotti
11/14/2014

Vincenza E. Cincotti passed away peacefully at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center of Medford on Friday. She was 94. Vincenza was born in Boston’s North End to the late Arthur and Assunta (Piccullo) Lauretano.

A remarkable woman possessed of a strong work effort and generous spirit, Vicenza learned sewing and dressmaking as a young woman. She devoted herself to raising her family and with her husband brought them from the cramped quarters of the North End to Medford in 1947. She was a well-read person who knew her current events, history and geography. She was also well versed in politics. She loved to sew. For many of her family members, the bride got a hand sewn and custom designed gown to make a special day even more special. The bridesmaids each got one as well. And the men of the family could boast of custom hand sewn silk ties. She even had her own label. She was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. But it was as wife and mother she shined as she stood by everyone in good times and as the trials of life came about.

The beloved wife of the late Nicholas Cincotti, she was a devoted mother to Nicholas Cincotti Jr and his wife Joanne of Burlington, Carl Cincotti and his wife Nina of Medford, Arthur Cincotti and his wife Suzanna of Hudson, NY, and the late Gerald Cincotti. She leaves her dear daughter-in-law Rosalba Cincotti of Burlington. She leaves her loving grandchildren Nicholas III, Michelle, Michael, Carl, Jr., Vincent, Danielle, Susan, Thomas, Adam, Sarah and Shannon as well as nine great-grandchildren. The dear sister of Mary Capraro of Medford, Lillian Natola of Medford, Lorraine Sarno of Revere, Arthur Lauretano of Medford the late Alfonso Lauretano and Olga Regnetta Vincenza leaves many devoted nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning, November 19th at 8 followed by a procession to the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM.
