C. Lillian "Lily" Sabella

C. Lillian Sabella of Wilmington passed away peacefully, November 15th at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was 92 years of age. "Lily", as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Sabella. Born in Boston she was one of seven children of the late Joseph and Maria (DiPaola) Catanzaro.

Lily has been in residence at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Facility for the past year. She lived most of her life in Boston's North End. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she enjoyed cooking and baking and making sure her home was always a warm and welcoming place for her family to gather and share time together. She was also a talented seamstress and over the years she enjoyed traveling with friends and family to destinations such as Spain, Italy, Cozumel and many more memorable trips.

In addition to her late husband, she is predeceased by her son, Stephen Sabella, sisters; Anna Maniscalco, Frances Catanzaro and Lucy Bono, brothers; Vincenzo and Domenic Catanzaro. She is lovingly survived by her daughter; Lucille Ausiello and her husband Alfred of Tewksbury. She was the loving grandmother of grandmother of Laura Piscatelli and her husband John of Billerica, Andrea Manning and her husband Stephen of Reading, Al Ausiello and his wife Maria of Tyngsboro, Jennifer Ausiello and her fiancé Joshua Rosenthal of Miami, FL, Toni Sabella of Boxford, and Stephen Guttadauro of Peabody. Loving great grandmother of Jaclyn, Jessica, Brian, Sean, Christopher and Nicholas. Cherished sister of Mary Curreri of Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, North Square, Boston, Tuesday, November 18th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the church prior to the mass from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Lily's memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Inc., 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215. Arrangements by the Dello Russo Funeral Service of Wilmington.
