Doris H. Benoit 92, of Ruskin Ave. died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Rene Benoit. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Grenon) Hand. Doris worked at Miller Electric for many years. She also worked at the Senior Center for over ten years before she retired.
Doris is survived by two sons Dennis R. Benoit of Simpsonville, SC, and Vincent L. Benoit of Woonsocket; a daughter Christine Tancrell of Deltona, FL; two sisters Rita Salemi of Manville, and Sr. Mary Laurita PM of Leominster, MA; three grandchildren, Jason Benoit, Bethany Mazzullo, and Jessica Benoit; four great-grandchildren, Kobi, Evan, Peyton and Derek. She also leaves her beloved dog Barry. Doris was predeceased by her siblings, Lawrence Hand, Muriel Moscatelli, Irene LeMunyon, and Mary E. McCarthy.
Her funeral beginning with visitation will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
