Obituary

Raymond Michael Maynard, 78, of Nashua, NH passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne Marie (Frederick) Maynard. He was born on August 13, 1936 in North Andover, Massachusetts to Margaret Veronica (Costello) and Raymond Napolean Maynard. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann Weigel. Mr. Maynard graduated from Johnson High School in North Andover in 1955 and served for four years in the United States Coast Guard (1956-1960).

He was stationed on Cape Cod and in the Carribean Islands. After his term in the Coast Guard, he worked for the Lawrence Probate Court for several years and then for Raytheon Corporation in Lowell and Andover MA and in Pelham, NH for 32 years. Mr. Maynard retired in 1999 and volunteered for Caregivers, Inc. He was a true Boston sports fan with a love for the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics.

He also enjoyed playing pool and poker, fixing things around the house, and eating ice cream, cookies, and potato chips. He had many nicknames of endearment, including “Buzzy” and “Homer”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children: Elizabeth Maynard and her husband, Christian Whitehouse, Robert and his partner, Elyse McNergney, Joseph and his wife, Martha, Christopher and his partner, Rosie Boutin, Paul and Patrick Maynard. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and loved ones.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist in Hudson, NH in December.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Maynard’s name may be made to the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 209 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844.
