Boronda ranch home which was located where the entrance to Lake Casitas is now. His great grandfather, Don Jose Manuel D. Boronda came from Spain and had been awarded a Spanish land grant in the Salinas Valley where the Boronda Adobe remains to this day.

He attended local schools through junior college while living on the same property he did when he passed away on November 12, 2014. After finishing school he worked for the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine before joining the Navy where he was a Pharmacy Tech in the 3rd Marine Division and later accompanied wounded servicemen to their homes by train across the country.

When he returned home he met his future bride, Rosamond Dutton, at the Green Mill Ballroom in Ventura where many of the Big Bands played. They were married on July 20, 1949 and together ran Sattler’s Upholstery for 62 years. Their son, Allyn, Jr. was born in 1954 and worked alongside his parents for over 30 years. Rosamond passed away June 22, 2011 and Allyn, Jr. died Christmas day, 2012.

Allyn was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, with a competitive nature. He enjoyed many trips to the Owens River and the Sespe and later in life he made annual trips with his great friends to hunt elk and deer in Colorado.

Although he became legally blind, he remained independent in his home with the help of his family and community. He is survived by his grandchildren; Allison, Allyn and Alexander Sattler and their mother Janice Sattler. Also, he leaves his sister, Josephine Willett, who sent in meals weekly for him to warm up; niece, Joanne Willett; great nephew, Craig Root; great-great niece, Jessie Root; nephew, Morgan Smith; great niece Patricia Smith and sister in law Helen Gifford.
