Palmira G. Silva, age 87 of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St Lukes Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose Goncalves Silva and daughter of the late Maria Conceicao (Medeiros) and Jose Garcia Goulart. Palmira was born in Pico, Azores and she recently moved to the New Bedford area.
She was survived by her sister: Carolina Neves; as well as nieces and nephews: John Goulart, Manuela Goulart, Maria Cecelia Hadden, Fernando Neves, Helder Lemos, Fernando Lemos, Jose Alberto Lemos and a great niece, Margaret Goulart. She was the aunt of the late Rudy Goulart.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:30 A.M. There will be visitation prior to the Mass from 7:00 –8:00 A.M. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
