Carol A. (Reuter) Lyons, age 66, of Mansfield, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Shawn Lyons and the late John Hutcheson.
Born in Mineola, New York on January 15, 1948, she was a loving daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Sloan) Reuter.
Carol grew up in Amityville, New York and was a 1966 graduate of Amityville Memorial High School. She had also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Lyons had worked for 18 years as a National Accounts Sales Manager for Reebok in Canton. She had previously been employed at the Morse Shoe Co. in Canton.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 41 years, Carol was a former member of the Mansfield Garden Club. She was an avid traveler and had once driven cross country to help relocate her close friend Joni. She also enjoyed vacationing in Aruba for the past 20 years.
Carol’s family was the focal point of her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and Friday nights socializing with friends at Jimmy’s Pub in Mansfield.
She is survived by her devoted children; Andrea C. Greco and her husband Raymond of Mansfield and Shawn E. Lyons and his wife Hideko of Hong Kong. She was the dear sister of Elizabeth Luse and her husband Robert of Virginia and the late Robert Reuter. She was the cherished grandmother of Samantha and Rebecca Greco, and Anna Lyons. She was the adoring sister in law of Geraldine Reuter of New York and Kathleen Sirois of Brockton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, November 16th from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the conclusion of visitation at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be held on Monday, November 17th at 9:00 A.M. at the Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
In lieu of flowers, Carol’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
