Maria Conçeicão (Pimentel) Pontes age 78 passed away in Fall River November 11, 2014. She was the widow of Jose Rego Pontes and daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia (Almeida) Pimentel. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, she had worked as a machine operator at San Toro Mfg. and was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Maria was the mother of José Pontes of Taunton and Antonio, Francisco (wife Belinda), Louis and Gabriel Pontes and Sarena (husband David) Da Silva and Virginia McMullen, all of Fall River. She was the sister of Albano (wife Lucilia) and Luis (wife Adriana) Pimentel of Swansea, Maria dos Anjos (husband Silvino) Estrella of Fall River and Maria do Carmo Silva of N. Dartmouth and the late Manuel Almeida and Antonio and José Pimentel. She was the grandmother of Mathew and Paul Rego, Kayla and Ryan Pontes, Tyler McMullen, Andrea and Alexander Da Silva, Ethan and Rylee Ferreira. She also leaves sister-in-laws Rosa (husband Joe) Silva, Luisa Almeida and Albertina and Maria Pimentel and several nieces and nephews.
