John V. Gilchrist, 83, of Salem, NH died Sun., Nov. 9th at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
John was born and educated in Somerville and graduated from St. Clement High School in 1949. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and he was a member of the Lawrence Elks.
He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Joan (McGonagle) Gilchrist. John is survived by his son, Jack Gilchrist of Salem, MA and daughter-in-law, Janine and his daughter, Linda Fisher of Plaistow, NH and 2 grandchildren, Paul and Ryan Fisher.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover, MA.
