Funeral services for Loren H. Posey, 81, of Ashburn, Ga., will be held at 3:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Sycamore Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Ga.. Mr. Posey passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

The son of Marion Jerome Posey and Ruby Lee Griffin Posey, he was born in Worth County. He served in the U. S. Army. After serving his country in the military, Mr. Posey started with the Y. J. Stover family, owners of Turner County Motor Company, where he continued his work after the dealership was sold to The Bob Heiserman Family and then later to Jerry Parker which is still in business as Parker Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Mr. Posey served as the parts manager for the dealership for 32 years before his retirement.

Mr. Posey was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for several years.

Survivors include his wife of 6l years Helen Sego Posey of Ashburn, Ga., a son, Ronnie (Monica) Posey of Colquitt, Ga., two daughters, Pam (Harold) Carter of Ashburn, Ga. and Pat (Chip) Edwards of Leesburg, Ga. One sister Ira Mae Mitchell of Cordele, Ga. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Blake and Lauren Carter, Josh, Ben, and Madison Posey, Cody, Anna, and Connor Edwards. Surviving also are 4 great-grandchildren.
