Evelyn Lavoie, age 88, of Burlington formerly of Woburn passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on November 7th in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo J. Lavoie and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington she was one of three children of the late Walter and Mildred (Kinsman) Cove.

Evelyn worked for over 20 years at the Marshall’s Warehouse in Woburn prior to her retirement. She worked fulltime nights so she could care for family during the day. Family was Evelyn's primary focus in life and she was most happy making sure that her children and then grandchildren were always taken care of. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and loved when the family was together. Evelyn will fondly be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a special friend who always put the needs of others before her own.

In addition to her late parents and husband, Evelyn is predeceased by her son, Gene J. Lavoie, sister, Virginia Chisholm, and brother, Fred Fissette. She is survived by her children, Donna Butler and her husband Richard of Woburn, Leo Lavoie of Burlington, Carol McNeil and her husband Joe of Burlington, Alan Lavoie and Mary of Billerica, Fred Lavoie and his wife Janice of Tewksbury, Sandy Brophy of Plymouth, Cheryl Bernoth and her husband Bob, of Chester, NH. She was the loving grandmother of Joe and Lisa McNeil, Brian, Andrew, Amy and Laura Lavoie, Stephen and Kristin Brophy, Stacey Gunnery and Dennis Bernoth. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and is further survived by her dear friend Adrian McNichol of Reading.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, November 12th, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Evelyn's memory to VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurses Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
