Paul S. Burton
Retired Tewksbury Hospital Employee

TEWKSBURY: Paul S. Burton, age 73, of Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at the Northwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lowell on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, after a long struggle with Dementia.
Born in Boston on June 27, 1941, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lillian Burton.
He attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1961.
Paul resided in Tewksbury until moving to Lowell in 1990.
While living in Tewksbury he developed close friendships with numerous townspeople.
Paul will be remembered by many for his kind, friendly and social personality.
He was known as " Paul from Lowell" as he called daily to the local radio station to discuss the topics of the day, especially politics, which he loved. He was also known as the "Mayor" of Northwood, as he sat in the lobby, every day, and greeted all who came and went, always with a smile.
Paul was an avid and loyal Red Sox fan. He never missed listening to or watching every game.
He was a devout Catholic and was a former member of the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society at St. William's Church.
Paul retired from the Maintenance Dept. of the Tewksbury Hospital in 1988.
Paul was lovingly raised by the late Bridget and Pete Sheehan.
He leaves dear friends, Mary Canavan, and Anne and Mario DeCarolis and their families.
Paul was predeceased by his dear friends, Kay and Donald Berube, Dot and Shine Sheehan, Joe Canavan and Mary Harrington.
All Paul's family and friends would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and the staff at Northwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care they provided to Paul over the last several years.
Paul is also survived by many friends including Susan, Gerry, Peter and Patrick Hansen, and the entire Sheehan, Canavan, Harrington, and Kelley families.
Paul was a good man and will missed by many.
Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 10, from 10-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be mailed to the Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 1010 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854, Attn: Resident Activity Fund-In Memory of Paul S. Burton.
