Obituary

Frank B. Curry, 95, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Quincy passed away peacefully on October 30 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born in Quincy, July 8, 1919. He was the son of the late Frank and Elvira Curry. He was raised in Quincy. During WW II he served as an Ensign in the Naval Air Corps and flew airplanes patrolling the coastline. In 1948, Frank married Elsie (Cooper). They raised their children in Squantum. He worked with his parents and brothers at the Frank B. Curry Company (Boston) making interiors for businesses and restaurants particularly Howard Johnson Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie, in 1987. He remarried to Nancy (McCleary).
Frank enjoyed playing tennis and was an active member of the Quincy Tennis Club. He touched many lives with his comments, antics, and creations. Frank was an avid sailor and boatman. He enjoyed working on the waterfront, building and maintaining his boats, piers, and docks. In retirement Frank could often be seen with his faithful Golden Labrador Retriever, Remo, riding on the bow of his sailboat (Ballerina) or his Boston Whaler. They would often visit many of the Boston Harbor Islands collecting various objects for his yard sculptures.
He was the loving father to his children, he leaves behind Don Curry of Quincy, Janet (Curry) Danello, and her husband, Paul Danello of Walpole, Lisa (Curry) Duncan and her husband, Dwight Duncan of Walpole.
He leaves his siblings, David Curry and his wife Middie of Hingham and George Curry also of Hingham. He was the brother of the late Barbara Chandler.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Abel Danello, Hannah Crowell, Nicole Zwetchkenbaum, and Ryan Duncan

Specials thanks to his step-daughter and granddaughter Jennifer Ehrhart and Emily Vaultonberg of St. Petersburg, Fl. who most lovingly cared for Frank in his final days. His memory will continue on in Emily’s upcoming book, Bub’s Story, as she gleaned much of the material from the many real life stories Frank, AKA Bub shared with her.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Saturday, November 29th at the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole at 11:30 a.m. (visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.) In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Salvation Army, Adult Rehabilitation Center, 281 N. Main St., Brockton, MA. 02302
