Douglass M. Mills of Natick passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Oak Knoll Healthcare Center of Framingham. He was sixty-seven years old.
Beloved son of the late Frances J. (McLeod) Mills, he was raised in Rockland, Maine and graduated from Rockland High School.
After his education, Mr. Mills joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a Natick resident for over thirty years and worked in food service for thirty-two years with Wellesley College.
Douglass enjoyed video games, reading an average of one book every two days and his nickname “Gentle Giant.” He was the devoted husband of Carol Ann (Murnane) Mills and they were together for thirty years.
He was the loving father of Susan A. Friot of Natick, Marlene M. Friot, also of Natick, Michelle Coppola and her husband Paul of Natick and Jennifer L. Randall of Milford.
Cherished grandfather of James, Daryl, Brandi, Marissa, Alex, Monique, Dominic, Junior and Vincent. Great grandfather of Cassidy, Giada, Jasmiya, James, Lorenzo and Jahziel.
Caring brother of Janet Mills of CA and the late Ellen Mills. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Tuesday, November 11th at 12:30PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 10th from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick with Military Honors.
