Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Ruth M. (Taylor) Nagle, age 90, died peacefully on Monday evening, November 3, 2014 at Saint Patrick’s Manor, her home for the past four years. She was the devoted wife of the late Edmund J. Nagle for 63 years.

Born in Boston, Ruth was a daughter of the late William and Rose (Burke) Taylor. She was raised in Arlington and, after graduating from Arlington High School, continued her education at Burdett Secretarial School in Boston. She was working as a secretary in Boston when she and Edmund were married in October of 1946.

Ruth and Ed lived in Lexington, MA in the early years of their marriage where they began their family. They moved to Providence, RI, prior to settling in Eastchester, New York, where they made a home for their three daughters. Ruth was employed by Scarsdale High School for 25 years where she became the indispensible and, ever diplomatic, Administrative Assistant to the Principal. Ruth was adept at balancing her roles as wife, mother, secretary, and active member of her parish.

Ruth retired in 1989 and she and Ed moved to Salisbury Estates in Pittsfield. They loved their new home and became very involved with the Salisbury Community and active in Saint Mark’s Parish. It was after Ed’s death in 2009 that Ruth moved to Saint Patrick’s Manor. Ever gracious and always a lady, Ruth kept her trusty pad and pen nearby to jot notes for herself to ensure that she would not forget a staff member’s name or any upcoming event.

She is survived by her daughters, Maureen E. Nagle of Somers, NY, Susan Fitz Maurice and her husband David of Jackson Heights, NY, and Denise N. Morrall and her husband David of Acton; and two grandchildren, Julianna N. and Bentley N. Morrall.

Her Services will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Friday, Nov. 7th at 1:00PM. Relatives and friends may meet with the family beginning at noon. A Mass will be celebrated in her name at St. Patrick’s Manor and at Saint Mark’s Church at a later date.

Gifts may be made in Ruth’s memory to Saint Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
