Michael Souza Gomes a lifelong resident of Taunton passed away on November 3, 2014. He was 33 years old. Michael was survived by his mother, Helen Souza of Taunton and his father, Manuel H. Gomes and his wife, Lea of Florida. He will be missed by his brother, Manny Gomes and his wife, Sandra of Taunton; and his sister, Treysa Harris, and her husband, Andrew, of Taunton and stepsister, Rachel Bass, of Florida. Michael was the proud uncle of Delaney Batista and Jamen and Jaxen Gomes. He will be missed by his grandmother, Helena Souza, of Taunton; and his aunts and uncles, Chuck and Gina Crocker, Jorge and Judy Matos, Arthur and Carmen Cabral and Fernando and Donna Gomes. Michael was also the loving cousin of Chucky Crocker, Desiree Henriques and her husband, Tony, Sandra Matos and her husband, Nelson, Linda Matos, Nick Gomes and his wife, Theresa, Eric Gomes, and Sonia and Jessica Cabral.
Born in Taunton on September 22, 1981, Michael will be remembered for his selfless nature. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking; which included climbs up Mount Washington. He loved to go camping and enjoyed being outside playing tennis and basketball. Michael was an extremely hard worker. Michael was dearly loved by many and inspired the lives of his peers.
