New Bedford – Maria Dos Anjos (Sousa) Pacheco, age 83 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. She was the loving wife of the late Virginio Pacheco and the daughter of Georgina (Borges) and Manuel Sousa. Mrs. Pacheco was born in St. Michael, Azores, moved to the New Bedford area in 1969 where she resided the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her children: Angie Clara and her husband, Luis, of Dartmouth, Rosie DaCunha and her husband, Joseph, of Swansea, Maria Angelo and her husband, Helder, of Dartmouth and Rui Pacheco and his wife, Ana, of Dartmouth; as well as 6 grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
Her funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 8 P.M.
