Obituary


Jeannine L. (Gagnon) Cardin 84, formerly of Blackstone, died peacefully Sunday in St. Antoine Residence. She was a Blackstone resident for nearly sixty years. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Adolphe and Blanche (Courtemanche) Gagnon.
Mrs. Cardin was a 4H club leader in Blackstone for many years, and throughout her life maintained a great fondness for animals and birds. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Above all, she had a great love of family and children.
She is survived by five sons; Maurice Cardin of Blackstone, Ernest and David, both of Uxbridge, Michael of Pawtucket, and Andrew of Ranseur, NC, two daughters; Lucille Bilodeau of N. Smithfield, and Jacqueline Mendrzychowski of Rehoboth, MA, eighteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren, and two sisters; Lucienne Cagnon of Pascoag, and Monique Noel of Manville. She was also the sister of the late Paul and Lionel Gagnon, Estelle Zwahred, Rita Allard, and Lucille Harnois.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 So. Main St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Theresa’s Church, Rathbun St, Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blackstone. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-7PM.
