Mrs. Madeline M. Lynch, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away unexpectedly on November 2nd at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was 78 years of age. Madeline was the beloved wife of Timothy F. Lynch, Jr. together sharing 55 years of marriage. Born in North Andover, Madeline was one of seven children of the late Howard and Dorothy (Moriarty) Doherty.

Madeline worked for over thirty years as a waitress and hostess at Kitty's Restaurant in North Reading where she was beloved by her coworkers and countless customers that she served throughout the years. She loved serving and interacting with people and forged many strong and lasting friendships over the years.

Madeline's greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed nothing more than making sure her home was a warm and welcoming place for her family to be together. She loved to cook and always made sure that everyone was comfortable and extremely well fed. Madeline especially cherished her time with her grandchildren. She loved family vacations at Hampton Beach and Loon Mountain. Together with her husband, family and friends, Madeline also enjoyed traveling to more distant destinations such as Ireland, Las Vegas, Aruba and Alaska to name a few. She was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. Most important was her faith which gave great comfort and strength. Madeline's Catholic faith was always in the forefront of her life and for many years she has been an active parishioner of St. Anthony Church and was involved with and volunteered at many different church events.

Madeline will fondly be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a woman strong in her faith. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Madeline is survived by her children; Patricia Lynch, Timothy F. Lynch III and his wife Sharon, Daniel P. Lynch and his wife Sheila, all of Tewksbury, Michael J. Lynch and his longtime companion Sue Fowler of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Kelsey, Brianna, Haley, Taylor, and Timothy IV, of Tewksbury and Dillon of Woburn. Sister of Robert Doherty and his wife Theresa of Lowell. She is predeceased by one sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, November 6th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Madeline's memory to the charity of one's choice.
