Methuen – Michael W. Scott passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Lawrence General Hospital. He was 55 years old and the beloved husband of Janice F. (Fox) Scott, to whom he was married for 36 years.
Born in Lawrence, MA on July 28, 1959, Mike was the son of the late George and Selma (Saba) Scott. He graduated from Methuen High School and was then a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He then worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) most recently at the Methuen Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mike was a devoted family man and loved to spend time with his entire family, but his greatest joy came in watching his beloved grandson, Owen, play baseball.
Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Janice; 4 children, Christopher Scott of Methuen, Michelle Scott of Methuen, Danielle Scott and her fiancé, Stephen Miller of Methuen, and Ryan Scott of Methuen; his grandson, Owen Foote; 3 sisters, Margaret Young and her husband, Bill of Derry, NH, Ann Smith and her husband, Craig of Methuen, and Patricia Edwards of Haverhill; 2 brothers, George Scott and his wife, Nancy of Salem, NH and Brian Scott and his wife, Marlene of Salem, NH; and his many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Mike’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 10-11 AM. His funeral service will take place on Friday and 11AM at the funeral home.
