Obituary

Worcester, MA - Ruth (Corneli) Bogar, 93 passed away on November 1, 2014, at Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester. She leaves behind her beloved children, Lydia Bogar of Grafton and Steven Bogar of Worcester and his wife Elaine O’Neill; her granddaughter Diane Philie of Framingham; and her great-grandsons Brady and Henry Rokes, and their father, Randy Rokes, of East Brookfield. She is pre-deceased by her husband Alexander Bogar (1959), and her granddaughter Joanne (Nichols) Rokes (2013).

Mrs. Bogar was the daughter of the late David and Lydia (Peterson) Corneli of Fitchburg. She was the owner of the Ambassador Beauty Guild for many years following the death of her husband. She also worked part time for H.R. Block Tax Services. She was a graduate of South High School in Worcester, the New England School of Accounting, and was a community volunteer with numerous organizations including the VNA and Elder Care Services.

Her family wishes to thank the compassionate nurses and aides at Knollwood Nursing Center and her previous caregivers at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Salem Covenant Church, 215 E. Mountain Street, Worcester on Friday, Nov. 7 at 11am. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
