Obituary

Sola, Anthony “Tony” F. At age 72, of Naples, FL and Dedham, MA, lost his long, courageous battle with non-smoking lung cancer on October 29, 2014. For 48 years, he was the devoted husband of Donna (Gillis), of West Roxbury. Tony was the beloved son of the late Gaetano “Guy” and Stella M. (Nuzzolo) Sola. He was the cherished father of Anthony F. Sola, Jr. and wife Ann of Natick; Michael F. Sola and wife Geralyn of Cockeysville, MD; Richard F. Sola and wife Kimberly of Walpole; and Timothy F. Sola of Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, Tony loved dearly his seven grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Emily, Kelly, Matthew, Christopher, and Ryan Sola who will miss his energy, humor and affection. He was the brother of Donna M. Pulcini and her husband John of Sarasota, FL and Natick. He leaves two sisters-in-law, Debbie Weckesser of Hanover and Susan and her husband Steve Sullivan of Canton. He also leaves four brothers-in-law, Thomas and his wife Susan Timmons and Michael and his wife Sharon Timmons both of West Roxbury. Richard and his wife Cindy Timmons of Franklin and John and his wife Patty Timmons of Canton. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A graduate of English High School (1960), he went on to receive an undergraduate degree in accounting from Bentley College (1964) and his MBA from Babson College (1970). He was an executive at Analog Devices for more than 25 years and a long time member of both Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood and Bears Paw Country Club in Naples, FL. Through his extensive international travels, Tony formed life long friendships that endure to the day. He will be remembered as a generous and compassionate gentleman with a contagious smile who enjoyed life and treasured his time with his family and friends.


Funeral from George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Monday at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2:00 – 6:00pm. Interment Private.
